If you are ever torn between Huawei Nova 6 and Huawei Nova 6 5G, refer to the table above. Howbeit, there is also another Nova smartphone in Huawei Nova 6 SE. Be sure to read about it on this website alongside every other Huawei smartphone ever. This review begins now.
Alright. Nova 6 made headlines first for its design. There are some, things, Huawei has done with and on this phone that has seen it receive mixed reactions. Personally I cannot say how I feel about this phone sine it is required I have a neutral standpount. Nevertheless, I hope mentioning that that dual camera cut out notch on the top right corner of Huawei Nova 6 is not so much of a big deal will not reveal which side I am on. To be honest, all these things just take some (a little) getting used to. Apart from this ‘uncommon’ notch I think Huawei’s move to spare the 3.5mm jack here has been a sigh of relief.
Alright enough with trivial whining Nova 6 comes with a glass and aluminum frame design. How nice. By the way this is a high ends smartphone (no confirmed IP rating though). On its glass back panel you will see a triple camera setup in vertical orientation as is typical of Huawei phones. Also you shall see a nice pattern of the writings NOVA writing the glass panel. Ah it really
is a nice touch that you will and must love. Above the display is also a call speaker. It weighs about 197 grams Huawei Nova 6 and has these dimensions 162.6 x 75.7 x 8.6 mm.
Still I do not see why the notch of Huawei Nova 6 distracts some. First to thing it houses two cameras instead of one (more on camera performance later) should just bring you joy. It is a rare thing to have such a privilege as this. Look here, the LTPS IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen of Huawei Nova 6 is 6.57 inches with a 1080 x 2400 pixels and 401 ppi density. Come now, is this not a good display? Has Huawei not proved its LTPS IPS LCD technology worth it in recent days? I surely has and we hope to see this trend increase in popularity among Huawei smartphones. Also, 6.57 inches is such an estate to interact with yes? And that is the kind of display Huawei Nova 6 boasts.
You can read the full front camera review of Nova 6 cameras on DXOMARK. This is DXOMARK is an independent benchmark that scientifically assesses smartphones, lenses and cameras. Now DXOMARK has ranked the selfie camera performance of Huawei Nova 8 as one of the best selfie cameras all time. According to DXOMARK the dual 32 MP wide and 8 MP ultra wide camera of Huawei Nova 6 has dethroned Samsung Galaxy S10 selfie performance. Here we think the performance is at par, at least. Howbeit, it is what it is. And do you know that video recording with the selfie camera is 4K 2160p@30fps? Well, if you did not know, now you do.
The three camera on the back panel are a 40 MP, f/1.8 wide lens with Laser AF, and 8 MP, f/2.4, telephoto lens also with Laser AF, OIS and 3x optical zoom whereas the final lens is an 8 MP, f/2.4, 16mm ultra wide shooting lens. This last lens, unlike the first two, has no autofocus. Video recording with the main camera setup is 2160p@30/60fps, 1080p@30fps, 720p@960fps, (gyro-EIS). Inasmuch as I would wish to praise these cameras for how great they perform with both video and photos, that dual selfie camera setup just carries the day, the month even the year.
Somewhere at the beginning of this article I mentioned that Nova 6 is a high end smartphone. I suspect even a flagship given the fact that it comes with the same chipset as that we see on Huawei flagships namely, HiSilicon Kirin 990 (7 nm). Again it is graced with a Octa-core (2×2.86 GHz Cortex-A76 & 2×2.09 GHz Cortex-A76 & 4×1.86 GHz Cortex-A55) CPU and a Mali-G76 MP16 GPU. These specifications speak for themselves I have not better words to use in describing their already popular powers.
Now if 128GB of internal storage on a smartphone is not enough (more often that not it is) then better be a cloud storage human since Huawei Nova 6 has no support or SD card, or even that NM card of theirs. But I a pretty sure 8GB RAM on a smartphone will never be less for any sound being. And that is just the kind of memory Huawei Nova 6 comes with – 128GB with 8GB RAM.
Sealed within is a long lasting non-removable Li-Po 4100 mAh battery that supports fast battery charging 40W (70% in 30min). Now that is fast.
