Oppo silently announced its latest Oppo A32 smartphone. It comes with a 5000 mAh battery, as well as an aggressive price tag for its budget specs and features. It arrives in three colors – Mint Green, Fairy White, Electric Black, and Fancy Blue. There is one price tag for the A53s in Kenya as well for the different memory variants. It costs Ksh 17,000 for the 128 GB version.
Okay, the chipset Oppo A32 comes with is a rather dated Qualcomm SM4250 Snapdragon 460 (11 nm) chip. This is the same chip that integrates the Adreno 610 GPU and features an X11 LTE modem supporting Cat 13 uplink and Cat 12 downlink. I honestly think when it comes to the performance then we would rather appreciate the fact that the Oppo A32 comes with either 4/8 GB of RAM which is quite generous yes? The same also has 128 GB of internal storage.
Still, under the hood is an Octa-core (4×1.8 GHz Kryo 240 & 4×1.6 GHz Kryo 240) CPU. The phone itself is powered by Android 10, with ColorOS 7.2. Now OPPO’s ColorOS 7.2 brings a range of innovative, easy to use features. And speaking of innovation, you will also appreciate the design of Oppo A32 which the company speaks of in this way. “Skillfully pleated for texture, and inspired by the shining, translucent glimmer of ocean waves, see the brilliant reflection of prismatic colors of light” – website.
Oppo A53s is an affordable smartphone with a triple camera setup. It comes with a 13MP main wide camera lens. This lens has an Auto-focus feature. Next is a 2 MP, f/2.4, (macro) a 2MP depth sensor. This is not all. And I think I may have been mistaken when I say it has three cameras. It has yet another. Oppo A32 has an 8 MP, f/2.0, (wide) shooter capable of shooting 1080p@30fps videos just like the main 13MP lens. And in case you are wondering, a depth-sensing lens will come in handy when you want to blur the background of a portrait image.
As a general rule, each year in the smartphone industry sees a new hyped feature. Just to explain what I mean, take the selfie camera for example. First, it was within a bezel, then we say notches, hole punch, and even pop up selfie cameras. And in 2020 the battle seems to be not only with the display but also their refresh rates. And the A32 also has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection before I get ahead of myself here.
The 90Hz refresh rate of Oppo A32 is something to talk about, surely it is. As a matter of fact, the A32 is the first Oppo smartphone (at this price point) to feature a higher than the normal 60Hz rate. Now 90 Hz refresh rate (see also Oppo A53) is the refresh rates at which the image redraws on the screen. Displays with a 90Hz refresh rate render images 90 times per second. The higher the refresh rate, the lesser is the motion blur, and the better the image quality.
Still focusing on the display, Oppo A32 comes with a big and bright 6.5 inches IPS LCD display panel. Look, dear reader, I cannot even get over the fact that it is a 90Hz refresh rate. Seriously, Oppo has entered the A – league here. But moving on, this panel does not disappoint when it comes to the resolution. We see a rather low 720 x 1600 pixels resolution with 270 PPI density. We’re thinking a compromise had to be made. And you will also notice the hole punch wherein the selfie camera lies.
Oppo A32 has a non-removable Li-Po 5000 mAh battery able to last up to two days of mixed usage. The best thing about it is that it does indeed support fast charging 18W via 2.0, Type-C 1.0 reversible connector. More features include a loudspeaker, 3.5mm jack, a fingerprint scanner (rear-mounted), Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n. You may also like Oppo A53s
