Itel A14 Plus

The Itel 14 Plus brings competitive pricing to the significantly cheaper budget options, with a budget performance device, a basic 4-inch IPS LCD screen, a primary 2MP camera, a decent 2500mAh battery, and a Mediatek budget chipset. It comes off as a basic yet budget device, with a promise of a great value proposition.
The Itel 14 Plus comes with a 4-inch IPS LCD screen with the older design that had a massive chin and notch. It’s a relatively small screen by all standards it is still decent enough to consume media with. It has a plastic frame and back and a scratch-resistant front panel. It is decently bright and vivid. It has a headphone jack, fortunately. It has a mono speaker whose sound is surprisingly clear when playing media.
The Itel 14 Plus comes with a budget Mediatek MT6580 Soc chipset, making it quite decent. It has a 1.3 GHz Cortex quad-core CPU paired with a Mali-400MP2 GPU, with storage options of 512GB for RAM & 8GB for ROM. It has an expandable memory option with a dedicated slot. It’s running the latest Android 10 Go Edition, so the performance isn’t all that shabby. Android Go Edition ideally has less bloatware as compared to custom skins so it shouldn’t lag or feel heavy. Everything feels decently fast and snappy.
The Itel 14 Plus has a single camera arrangement on the back. It comes with a grainy single 2MP primary sensor for those fairly usable daylight photos. It has no ultra-wide nor depth sensor so it’s kind of obvious it’s not big on the camera department. The pictures are hardly usable though. The video can only support VGA so there ain’t much to that. The selfie camera is a basic 2MP wide sensor. The selfies aren’t much still but are usable.
The Itel 14 Plus is a budget device no doubt. But it is disappointing that it comes with an underwhelming 2500mAh battery and no fast charging. That puts it at a clear disadvantage considering most budget devices come with huge batteries. It also retains the micro-USB charging port.
Similarly, priced phones would include Itel A16 Plus, Itel A14 Plus, Tecno Pop 3, and the Tecno Pop 2F Go. The main distinction at this price point is often a choice of a bigger battery or a larger screen. The OS might feel a little bloated but anyone who has used an Itel phone before will feel right at home.
