Infinix Note 12 VIP brings competitive pricing to the budget phones balancing out the basic features with decent performance and a huge screen. It sports a 6.7 inch AMOLED screen, the high 120Hz refresh rate, huge 8GB RAM, a massive 4500mAh battery and the decent Helio G96 chipset. That’s certainly eye catching a device at its price point
Infinix Note 12 VIP comes with a 6.7-inch 120Hz AMOLED screen with a punch hole design for the selfie camera. It’s a huge phone, bigger than most phones in its class. It’s hardly a one handed operation, with a screen to body ratio of 86.4%. It has a plastic frame and back and a NEG Dinorex protected front panel. It is very bright and vivid, peaking at 700 nits. It’s not rated for splash protection, but it’s certainly not waterproof. Fortunately, it has top placed a headphone jack. It has a physical fast side mounted fingerprint sensor, intergrated into the power button. It has a dual downward firing speaker, which is great for playing media.
Infinix Note 12 VIP comes with the budget Mediatek Helio G96, making it decently fast. It has a Cortex Octa-core CPU paired with a Mali G57 GPU, with storage options of 4/8 GB for RAM & 128/256 GB for ROM. It also comes with a dedicated expandable memory option. It is running the latest Android 12, with a XOS 10.5 skin on top. The performance, coupled with a 120Hz AMOLED screen, feels fast, smooth and rich in colour. It however comes with lots of pre-installed apps, which can be an underwhelming experience, especially if you are not used to bloatware. The OS is however very customizable, with tonnes of themes and other customizations.
Infinix Note 12 VIP has a triple camera arrangement on the back. It comes with a huge 108 MP primary sensor, for those excellent daylight photos. Additionally, it has a 2MP depth lens and a 13MP ultrawide for those landscape and group photos. The photos are great and vivid when taken in decent lighting. The video can support up to 1440p video at 30 fps and 1080p at 60fps, with HDR support. The selfie camera is a decent 16MP wide sensor, capable of 1440p video at 30fps. The selfies are great and well lit.
The Infinix Note 12 VIP supports USB Type C and comes with impressive 120W fast charging. Needless to say, there is no wireless charging. On the flipside, it comes with a massive Li-Po 4500mAh non-removable battery. It can get fully charged in just under 17 mins. All things considered, this a great device all-rounder, a high refresh rate screen, great performance, a huge camera and fast charging. There is no NFC too so no contactless payments. It comes in Force Black, and Cayenne Grey.
Similarly, priced phones would include Xiaomi Poco F3, Tecno Camon 19 Pro, Oppo Reno 7 and the Samsung Galaxy A52. The main talking points would be 120Hz AMOLED screen and the huge battery. Also with the 120Hz fast charging, its offers an experience similar to much more premium midrange gadgets.
For the price, it’s a great device. Superior design, high end screen and very huge battery. Seeing that it comes with a midrange Mediatek chipset, the performance is bound to feel like that of a premium device, as the performance has actually improved.
