With Ceramic Shield, tougher than any smartphone glass, water resistance and surgical-grade stainless steel, the iPhone 14 is designed for durability. On the rear, the camera bumps have also gotten thicker, compared to iPhone 13 Pro, plus there is a new purple colour model that’s debuted. It weighs 172 grams with a dimension of 146.7 x 71.5 x 7.8 mm (5.78 x 2.81 x 0.31 in).
This year’s basic iPhone offers a Super Retina XDR OLED, HDR10, Dolby Vision, 800 nits (HBM), 1200 nits (peak) on a 6.1-Inch display. Compared to the Samsung Galaxy S22 launched early this year, this display is way too good. Under direct sunlight it is excellent.
On the optics side you get a powerful camera upgrade enabled by photonic engine for a new standard for capturing images and videos with a new 12MP Main camera featuring a larger sensor and larger pixels, a new front TrueDepth camera, the Ultra Wide camera to capture more of a scene, and Photonic Engine for a giant leap in low-light performance.
The entire iPhone 14 lineup introduces groundbreaking safety capabilities that can provide emergency assistance when it matters most. With a new dual-core accelerometer capable of detecting G-force measurements of up to 256Gs and a new high dynamic range gyroscope, Crash Detection on iPhone can now detect a severe car crash and automatically dial emergency services when a user is unconscious or unable to reach their iPhone. These capabilities build on existing components, like the barometer, which can now detect cabin pressure changes, the GPS for additional input for speed changes, and the microphone,5 which can recognize loud noises typified by severe car crashes. General performance is very smooth and you will not experience lags. The iPhone 14 also works with the new Apple Watch Series 8 and the AirPods Pro 2 earbuds.
It’s not yet clear the battery the iPhone 14 is offering but we are anticipating an upgrade from the iPhone 13 Pro Max.
